How'd we get here?
After getting hooked on bike restoration in the early 2000s, founder Joel Alford has spent the last two and a half decades turning wrenches and spinning wheels in Charlottesville, Oakland, Brooklyn, Chicago, and finally, Richmond. Here, he built a reputation as a trusted mechanic and community builder through his work with ReCycles, and brings that same ethos to Field Trip by caring as much about the people as the bikes themselves.
